Everyone is welcome - from young to old and we aim to be dementia friendly. Come for the whole time or just drop-in for a shorter visit.


There is no charge for refreshments but we ask that those attending

make a contribution towards the use of the Club.

 (There is a collecting box for this purpose.)

Men’s Lunch Group

The next lunch meeting will be held at the usual venue, the Golden

Pheasant, Plumley lane, Plumley, 12.45 for 1.00pm, on Thursday 15th February 2018. 

All members are reminded of the importance of this meeting, in order to finalise the arrangements for the forthcoming visit to BBC MediaCity.

Rock Solid Young Peoples’ Group

A New Year of Rock Solid

          in St John’s Church Room

          one Wednesday each month at 7.00 pm.


  Rock Solid is an event for young people from school years 7 to 10. Based on material produced by British Youth for Christ it aims to engage youngsters in 

thinking about some of the big issues facing our society. There will also be all sorts of games, outside in summer, as well as other activities. 

There is no entrance fee, but we do expect those who come to register and let us know if they have any known allergies or medical conditions. 

Our popular ‘tuck’ shop sells fruit as a healthy option in addition to sweets.

       25th April; 23rd May; 20th June 18th July

On The Third Day - A York Course
Five sessions with course booklet, cd and discussion.
You do not need to attend all sessions as each one is a stand-alone topic
within the wider subject.

Tuesday Evenings at 19.30 - starting on Tuesday 20 February
Venue: The Vicarage for the first session but we are open to
offers of hospitality from other people and will let group members
know where each session is to be held.

A lighter and more informal Lent Course where week by week we look at each of the words in the title.
A course book is available for those who would like it. You can borrow or buy one.

“The Mystery of Everything”, based on the film, “The Theory of
Everything” and written by Hilary Brand.
The starting point each week is based around the multi-award winning film, about the life of Stephen Hawking.

The five weekly sessions are:
Week 1: 22nd February “The experience of wonder”.
Week 2: 1st March      "The enigma of weakness “.
Week 3: 2nd March      “The complexity of relationships”.
Week 4: 15th March      "The encounter with frailty”.
Week 5: 22nd  March     “The hope beyond brokenness”.

Each session will be held in St John’s Church Room and will begin at 7.30pm.
